A MODERN UPPER SECONDARY SCHOOL – AN EXCELLENT PATH TO ALL-ROUND EDUCATION AND UNIVERSITY STUDIES

Some 300 young men and women study in the new facilities of the Aurajoki Upper Secondary School, in an excellent atmosphere. Students receive strong support from group and student counselling, in a flexible non-graded education system.

Concept of operation

Aurajoki Upper Secondary School and its sports oriented section work as a non-graded upper secondary school. It offers its students thorough all-round education, and the readiness to university studies and other further studies that require prior upper secondary studies. As our school has been granted the status to perform a special sports oriented programme by the ministry of education, it offers students the possibility to combine flexibly organized full upper secondary school studies with sports training.

Studies

Aurajoki Upper Secondary School offers a competitive array of different courses, on the basis of which students make a personal study plan, called a HOPS, that suits best to their needs. The personal study plan can be modified for each new period of study. The non-graded system enables an individual pace of studying, and it also enables the efficient use of the various courses available. Reinforced group and student counselling offer support to the students throughout their studies.
